Volunteer Opportunities

There is SO much to be done at the MiniFarm in the fall - cutting back dead plants, disassembling the flower field, digging dahlia tubers, washing & dividing dahlia tubers, planting spring bulbs (we have over 9000 tulip bulbs coming!), collecting leaves to mulch the flower field, and more.  We warmly welcome a hand from anyone who would like to get involved and get a little dirty! This is a great chance to see how we do things here and get your questions answered!

While we wait for first frost, we will be getting a jump start on some fall clean-up.  This will involve removing expired plants from the flower field and peony field, disassembling the flower field, and amending soil for new plantings.  While we still have flowers, volunteers will be thanked with a bouquet of dahlias for every shift worked!

Please RSVP if you plan on attending so that we can plan that day's tasks  accordingly.  Likewise, if you RSVP and are unable to come, please let us know in advance.  We ask that you show up as close to the start time for your shift as possible so that we can organize our volunteers accordingly.

Please note:  These events are for adults and capable/willing older children only.  Please leave small children and pets at home.
